Holistic warehouse planning for Internorm

New Jungheinrich racking system for greater storage capacity

Tailor-made racking system enables an extension of about 4,000 pallet spaces for high-quality plastic products at Internorm in Damme.

For the company Internorm, based in Damme (East Westphalia), we were able to equip a new warehouse with a tailor-made racking system for the storage of pallets and small parts and expand storage capacity by approx. 4000 pallet spaces.

Internorm has been producing high-quality synthetic products since 1987. The product portfolio ranges from rolls and roll coatings to polyurethane plastics, moulded parts and injection-moulded items.

Production decoupled from storage

The Company’s steady growth made it necessary to separate production from storage and invest in a completely new 4,200 square meter warehouse.

The storage of plastic products also required increased fire protection. Further, besides storing small
parts, Euro pallets and longitudinal goods, the storage of grid boxes had to be taken into account.

After a comprehensive consultation by Jungheinrich, the decision was made for a combination of wide-aisle multi-bay pallet racking with a modular racking system and cantilever racking.

“The critical factor for choosing Jungheinrich as a partner was their comprehensive consulting and professional cooperation during the entire selection phase.”

Jungheinrich’s holistic planning

Jungheinrich, as a leading supplier of racking systems in intralogistics, designed and planned the construction of the new warehouse holistically. Right from the beginning, Jungheinrich worked in partnership with Internorm on analysing, planning and then constructing the warehouse.

The comprehensive requirement and material flow analysis resulted in a tailor-made, perfect-fitting racking system.

Perfect-fitting racking system for Internorm

The new storage system from Jungheinrich was built on a floor area of 3,000 square meters and comprises a storage area of 4,200 square meters and thus expands storage capacity by approx. 4,000 pallet positions.

The tailor-made racking system consists of multi-bay pallet racking, modular shelving and cantilever racking, which guarantee both efficient storage of all goods and smooth order-picking operations.

In addition, Internorm opted for the Jungheinrich ETV Q forklift, which – thanks to its electric all-wheel steering system – is able to transport loads of up to 8 meters in length in a limited space.

The final result is impressive, a tailor-made racking system that provides greater flexibility and storage capacity.
